PROCESOS INCLUSIVOS PARA LA CONSERVACIÓN DEL PATRIMONIO. TALLER BARRIAL DE ARTES Y OFICIOS, CENTRO HISTÓRICO DE PUEBLA, MÉXICO

The Workshop “Taller Barrial de Artes y Oficios” (Neighborhood Workshop for Arts and Crafts) was initiated by the College of Architecture at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (FABUAP) and the group Re Genera Espacio (RGE) as response to an initiative by residents from the neighborhoods of San Antonio, El Refugio and Santa Anita for spreading the trades they practice and the need to have better technical knowledge for the conservation of local heritage. One of the first activities carried out was the “Workshop Internacional de Volumetría Tridimensional en Yesería y Argamasa” (International Workshop on Three-dimensional Volume with Plaster and Mortar), which in its two editions went from being a workshop for ornamental elements elaboration to being one of execution on site, to train and work with people from the community. It also deals with real problems in deteriorated areas of the city of Puebla (México), such as the restoration of Vía Crucis niches in San Antonio’s ancient temple in 2017.
